All teachers ask questions every day. Literally hundreds of them. How, when, and what questions are posed in the classroom is critical. This is not another sit and get about DOK and levels of questions. This session will be packed with relevant, useful, and proven strategies that anyone can implement immediately. Teachers, instructional coaches and administrators will benefit from the concrete take-aways about being intentional with instructional decisions. Everything learned can be used in classrooms tomorrow. Questions are the driving force of learning in classrooms. Dig into framing, delivering and maximizing questions in your education space to keep students engaged in thinking and learning.
Learning Targets:
- Pose questions that reduce disengagement.
- Reduce "I don't know" responses in your classroom.
- Support student centered learning with questioning methods.
- Scaffold student learning through a sequence of questions.
- Invite risk-taking by creating a culture of safety in responding to questions.
Connie is also available to create follow-up online sessions with schools and staff to work on implementation moving forward.
