About the Session:

Day One - Essential Training

This training provides all Tacpac users with the understanding and skills necessary for the effective delivery of Tacpac. It is an essential training for both for experienced practitioners and for complete novices. We look at the whys and hows of Tacpac, combining theory and practice into a fun, interactive and stimulating day.

This training enables you to:

  • Understand the theory behind Tacpac
  • Internalise and deliver the Tacpac activities effectively
  • Experience sensory overload for yourself
  • Heighten awareness of your own senses (we have more than 5)
  • Discover how to work effectively with touch
  • Meet other professionals, parents and carers
  • Understand our sensory system and the role of touch
  • Understand the essential role of the music in Tacpac

Day Two - Advanced Training

Advanced Training both improves and boosts your delivery skills. We consider the effectiveness of the sensory experience during Tacpac by focussing on the sensory stimuli of music and touch and the responses within the brain.

This training enables you to:

  • Develop your understanding of your own sensory responses
  • Develop your powers of observation to enable more effective communication
  • Understand the components of music at a deeper level, enabling you to guide your touch more intuitively
  • Understand the development of the brain and the role of sensory experience
  • Be more familiar with the use of Tacpac objects
