Learning Opportunities

Courtnay Epp is a Health Promotion Facilitator on the Healthy Schools Team within Alberta Health Services. She has been with the organization for over 10 years and is passionate about improving staff and student wellbeing through evidence-informed action using the comprehensive school health approach.  Courtnay has a keen interest in supporting divisions in the South West Zone with emerging hot topics that affect the overall wellness of the school community.  In her spare time, Courtnay enjoys connecting with nature and spending time with her 9 year old twins.

Desirea Agar (she/her) has a Master of Arts in Human Kinetics with a Women’s Studies specialization and has utilized knowledge gained from these joint fields of study to support teachers in creating safe, caring, and respectful classrooms in urban and rural settings for the past nine years.  Desirea lives in Medicine Hat with her two kids, though is often found cruising down a dirt road seeking out the best camping spot or biking, hiking, and ski trail!

Baylee Schmidt (She/Her) is a registered social worker with a Bachelors of Social Work. Currently, she serves as the Supervisor for the Chinook Child and Youth Advocacy Centre, a program of the Chinook Sexual Assault Centre, where she demonstrates her commitment to supporting individuals in a trauma-informed, person-centered way. Baylee is dedicated to providing support to those she works with, offering a safe, compassionate environment for healing and growth. Additionally, she plays a key role in community education, offering valuable insights and resources to schools and groups in southern Alberta's southwest zone. Outside of her professional life, Baylee enjoys spending time with her partner in Lethbridge, listening to live music, going to the movies, and trying new recipes.
