Students grieve deeply and require support to move through the challenges and distress accompanying loss. Please join Dr. Linita Eapen Mathew as she explores the presence of student grief in Canadian schools. The session will define student grief, discuss the effect of trauma on the brain and learning, and provide educators with examples of how storytelling can support student grief work in the classroom. Using the art of structured storytelling, educators are guided on how to help students actively process and reconcile death and living losses.
