This Series, hosted by Adelee Penner, will provide opportunities for all School Leadership to connect, share, and learn together. Leaders from Alberta Public, Private and Charter Schools will share their personal experiences and perspectives on each topic, which is connected to and informed by the Alberta Leadership Quality Standards (LQS).

September 25th, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Title: Fostering Effective Relationships
Description: A leader builds positive working relationships with members of the school community and the local community.

October 23rd, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Title: Modeling Commitment to Professional Learning.
Description: A leader engages in career-long professional learning and ongoing critical reflection to identify opportunities for improving leadership, teaching and learning.

November 27th, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Title: Embodying Visionary Leadership
Description: A leader collaborates with the school community to create and implement a shared vision for student success, engagement, learning and well-being.

December 5th, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Title: Leading a Learning Community
Description: A leader nurtures and sustains a culture that supports evidence-informed teaching and learning.

January 29th, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Title: Education Law in Independent Schools in Alberta.
Description: Presentation from a lawyer about the School’s Legal Context. The presentation will take into consideration the perspectives of the public, private, and charter schools. Including recent cases to be aware of and ways to be proactive as a leader.

February 26th, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Title: Supporting the Application of Foundational Knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit
Description: A leader supports the school community in acquiring and applying foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students.
