"Teaching Reading: A Playbook for Developing Skilled Readers Through Work Recognition and Language Comprehension, Grades PreK-6" was authored by Douglas Fisher, Nancy Frey, and Diane Lapp. Fisher, Frey and Lapp have created a text that provides evidence-based instructional practices for teaching reading based on Scarborough's Rope with the additions of morphological awareness and theory of mind. This book is very approachable for classroom teachers with a blend of research and strategies you can implement into your instructional practice.

Each session will focus on one or two modules from the book through discussion and the sharing of strategies.

The book club would be excellent for teachers new to the profession, those who feel like they don't know how to teach reading, and anyone who just wants to learn a few new strategies to boost their instruction.
