The Date of this learning opportunity is for registration deadline purposes only.  This is an asynchronous, unhosted learning opportunity.

Regardless of when you register, the recording links expire on May 19, 2023.

This asynchronous learning opportunity provides access to the handout and recording of a previous learning opportunity held in Lethbridge on March 16th which covered the Essential Background Knowledge of the UFLI model and the second-day recording that provided an overview of the implementation of the UFLI model in the classroom which was recorded on March 18th.

The handout PDF and recording link for session one are sent upon registration.

The Session 2 recording link is also provided; however, the manual (highly recommended for session 2) must be acquired directly from UFLI. Here is a direct link.

Registrants have until May 19th to finish viewing the recording of the sessions.

The University of Florida Literacy Institute Essential Background Knowledge training will provide educators with the necessary knowledge to support the development of foundational literacy skills. The session will provide an overview of research on reader development and principles of effective reading instruction and intervention. We then take a closer look at the key foundational reading skills UFLI Foundations addresses: phonemic awareness, alphabet knowledge, decoding, encoding, and oral reading fluency.
