Robin Bright advocates implementing a strong writing program in the primary classroom. In Write from the Start, she introduces writers workshop – a highly effective approach to teaching writing to young people. Robin asked over 100 teachers the following questions: “What frustrates you about writing instruction?” She used the responses from these questions, along with the findings of the most effective research, to compile dozens of easy-to-use writing activities.

Robin Bright, PhD, award-winning author, was an elementary school teacher for 10 years. She is now a Professor of Education at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta. She teaches courses in the area of language arts, reading, writing and gender studies. Robin is the author of two professional books on reading and writing instruction and has published numerous articles on these topics.
